Spring or autumn is the ultimate season for organizing a hiking excursion to the waterfalls of the Crimean Mountains. On the other hand, if you want to bathe there, midsummer will be perfect. The hotel's service personnel will offer you to visit Crimea's most beautiful waterfalls >>>

The mighty Dzhur-Dzhur waterfall (Alushta, Generalskoye) is especially picturesque

Its name is a Turkic echoism of the prattling water; the Greek called it Chremasto-Nero (“hanging water”). It does not dry out completely even in the most drouthy seasons. The water falls in several springs from a 12-meter high cliff down into the Khapkhal canyon, and flows further to the riverbed of Ulu-Uzen, and then – into the sea.
Having ascended up the flow you can see a complex of cataract by which the water rolls down the cliffs. According to ancient Crimean legends, these cataracts have health-renovating and rejuvenating abilities, so the guides will surely offer you to bathe there. One can dip there or stand under the heavy sptings for a while, but it's hard to stay there for a long time and restricted for children as the temperature of water never gets warmer than +10-11С.

The Uchan-Sy waterfall (Yalta) – the largest waterfall in Crimea

Its name is translated from the Crimean Tatar as “Flying (falling) water)”. It is located in the mountains, about 7 km away from the town. To reach it one will have to ascend the old Isarskoye highway up to the Vodopadnaya river bridge. The remains of a medieval defending wall of Isar which gave the name to this locality, can still be observed here. To the South there is a wonderful view of Yalta, and opposite – in the mountains – there is the Uchan-Su waterfall.
The water here falls dwon from the height of 98 meters. The waterfall looks especially picturesque anfter pouring rains and in the springtime when the snow melts in the mountains, but it dries out in summer and only a wet trace remains. There is an observation point – Orliniy Zalyot – equipped on the cliff from which the waterfall breaks loose.

Going on an excursion to the Red Cave, you can go along the river of Kyzylkobinka

It is a small Crimean river flowing from the cave of Kyzyl-Koba of a branch of the Dolgorukovskaya yaila. The river flows underground for about 13 km. On surfacing it forms the waterfall of Su-Uchkan (which is also translated as “falling water”). There are also some cataracts here, but they are not so high. These places are popular among those who are fond of esoteric tourism, the annual Slavic ritual festival is taking place nearby on the Night of Ivan Kupala (st. John the Baptist).
